I realise I haven't updated this site yet this week, so I'll make it brief. Here is what we are doing this week:
Eng 8 (8-01, 8-02): discussing and writing about remembrance Day, peace and human rights; drafting of poems. Must have one final copy done for Monday.
SS 8 (8-01, 8-02): Test on Wednesday (8-02) and Thursday (8-01); Comparative Religions Project is OVERDUE. Transitioning units with a current events article on Canada's involvement in sending troops to Iraq, then we will be starting a unit on the Early Middle Ages, including the Vikings.
Eng 9 Pre-AP: students critiqued my 'ineffective memoir" on Monday and we developed a list of 'qualities of effective memoirs'. On Wednesday the grade 9s won't be at school as it is "Take Kids to Work Day" so there won't be a class scheduled. On Friday we will look at more effective memoirs and students will start writing their own.
There are still a couple more days to bring in non perishable items for the Food Drive. Food will stay within our community and be given to the Goldstream Food Bank. The Free the Children Club meets on Tuesdays in my room.
