I was very impressed with the students in the Me to We Club last recently. We held a bake sale to raise money for Plan Canada’s Spread the Net campaign. This campaign seeks to raise money to purchase bed nets to prevent the spread of malaria in developing countries. Malaria is spread through mosquito bites and some statistics show that one child under five dies every minute due to malaria. My ‘Me to We’ Club managed to raise $191.00 for this campaign – this will purchase 19 bed nets and help protect lives of children. Thanks to all the students who participated (and the parents who helped with the baking and supplies). Here is an article that was posted in the Goldstream Gazette about it.
