It’s unfortunate, however, that I still have many students who have not handed in their assignments. I’ve been telling my students for several weeks now to get their overdue assignments in, but it is the week before my marks are due and I still have many students who have not handed in their assignments. Obviously, if the work is not handed in then the mark on the report card will be an ‘I” for Incomplete or an “F” for Fail. It really comes down to whether I can connect with parents in time to let them know whether their child will not be passing. Right now, I must say I’m feeling like I’m working harder than some of my students are to ensure they don’t get a failing grade. I will do my best to connect with parents this week if I am concerned that your child does not have enough work in to pass the term in English or Socials.
As well, many of your kids are doing fabulously and I feel like I haven’t had a chance to let you know this. I will make more of an effort to try and connect with some “good news” reports from time to time. As always, if you have questions about how things are going in class, please send me an email. Often this is the best way to get in touch with me. As for the word of the week, it is ‘report cards’.

English 9 PreAP: workshop with StoryStudio (Monday). Will have class time on Wednesday to write the introduction for their story (introduce characters, setting and describe the conflict).
